T & H then ...

Andrew Thompson and Mike Hillman joined forces in 1970 and formed T & H Agricultural Contractors Limited.  They had a reputation for having the biggest and best machinery in the area.  At the start of each season they would source new plant, work it and sell it on.  It wasn't long before they realised that they had a knack for dealing in machinery.  Machinery dealing, particularly telehandlers gradually took over as the main income for the business.  Dealing in machinery and running your own equipment takes space.  They built a workshop and warehouse in Deddington to look after their equipment.  Over the years the machinery business grew after holding dealerships for new telehanders/loaders with Sanderson, Matbro, Manitou and Schaef.  In 2004 the machinery business was sold to M T Equipment.  This left a lot of space to fill.  With the proceeds of the business sale, T & H bought more property including a number of retail premisses in Banbury and Brackley.  This saw the start of T & H Containanstor

T & H Containanstor ...

Andrew and Mike started to help new and growing established businesses with warehousing, materials handling and yard/office space.  The store was opened to the general public for personal effect storage.  Their flexible approach to storage meant that they got some "strange" requests.  These strange requests were always looked at seriously and were what made their business interesting.  There have been times when prototype cars have been stored in their warehouse, or the latest CD's before they hit the shops.  Items that are too large for most storage companies such as generators for use by hospitals have been through the yard.  These diesel fueled power stations took a lot of careful unloading/reloading.  It is this care and attention that has given T & H a reputation that means they are approached by the scientific community to help store one of a kind devices before they are commissioned.

Mike retires ...

In 2009 Mike decided it was time to retire.  As of November, Andrew will be running Containanstor on his own.  It will be the same people (with the exception of Mike) that you will see in the office and around the yard.  Mike is looking forward to taking things a little easier.  You will notice that Containanstor is now owned and oprated by A L & C Thompson.  The company details can be found in the about us section of this web site.
